I am an Associate Professor (Docent) in Education, educator, researcher, supervisor, mentor, and international project leader whose academic career spans Australia, Europe, the Nordic countries, and international research collaborations in Ethiopia.
My work is guided by a commitment to building academic capability through research leadership, international partnerships, curriculum innovation, and sustainable institutional development. I collaborate with universities, governments, international organisations, educational agencies, researchers, and academic leaders to strengthen research cultures, develop people, and create opportunities that support sustainable and future-oriented education systems.
Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT) provides the theoretical foundation for my programme of scholarship. It shapes my approach to leadership, supervision, mentoring, and educational development, recognising that meaningful learning, innovation, and institutional growth emerge through relationships characterised by mutual respect, dialogue, inclusion, and cultural understanding.
The University of Gothenburg recognised my commitment to excellence in higher education by awarding me the distinction of Excellent Teacher in 2018. In 2019, I was appointed Associate Professor (Docent) in recognition of my scholarly contributions.
Educational Philosophy"Learning is at the heart of everything I do"
I regard education as one of our most powerful means of addressing ignorance, inequality, and intolerance while nurturing thoughtful, engaged, and responsible citizens in an increasingly complex world.
Regardless of our professional roles, lifelong learning requires us to understand why conditions exist as they do—politically, socially, culturally, and institutionally—and how we might contribute more consciously to the communities we serve.
My teaching, leadership, and mentoring are grounded in the belief that intellectual growth develops through openness, dialogue, curiosity, and relational practice. We need not always agree; what matters is our willingness to listen, reflect, and engage respectfully with diverse perspectives. It is within these relationships that meaningful learning, innovation, and transformation become possible.

Public Scholarship (Podcast)"I believe research has its greatest impact when it is shared beyond academia".I am the creator, designer, producer, and host of the podcast Sånt är livet i Sverige! (That's Life in Sweden!). The podcast is produced in English and features two series: one with international guests and another highlighting Nordic perspectives. Each episode is professionally produced using broadcast-quality recording equipment and features in-depth conversations with researchers, educational leaders, policymakers, authors, and practitioners from Sweden and around the world.
Together, we explore leadership, education, sustainability, innovation, inclusion, artificial intelligence, and the ideas shaping our societies. Through these conversations, I aim to connect research with practice, promote international dialogue, and create opportunities for shared learning across cultures, disciplines, and professions.
Whether through research, teaching, mentoring, leadership, speaking, or public scholarship, my purpose remains the same:
Building academic capability through relationships, research, partnerships, and educational innovation. Because education matters.📺 YouTube:
